Because natural cosmetics have a short shelf life, it is recommended to sterilize tools and containers for cosmetics before making them. The most common method is to spray it with ethanol for disinfection and then air dry it or wipe it with a kitchen towel. You can make simply by mixing ethanol and purified water in a ratio of 7:3 or 8:2. After making it, it is convenient to put it in a spray bottle and spray while using it.
Disinfection principle of ethanol
Ethanol destroys the bacterial membrane and penetrates to denature the protein within the bacteria, thereby sterilizing and disinfecting. If the content of ethanol is too high, the bacterial membrane is tightly coagulated, and ethanol cannot penetrate into the bacteria. So the bactericidal power is being lower. Below 60%, the ethanol content is low, so it does not have a good sterilization effect. In other words, when the ethanol content is 70~80%, it shows the most optimal sterilization power.
By adding 74ml of vegetable ethanol with an alcohol content of 95% and 26ml of purified water. It will be about 70% rate ethanol for disinfection.
